Gargano Tour (Vieste & Foresta Umbra)

DESCRIPTION

We leave from Manfredonia to reach Vieste through the “Gargano”panoramic road, 60 km of breathtaking views with photo stops at Baia delle Zagare and Arco di San Felice.
Vieste is situated on the extreme end of Gargano, with its 30 km of coastline. It is bathed by a crystalline sea, with golden beaches, beautiful bays shaded by centuries-old pines, breathtaking cliffs, romantic islands, enchanting sea caves, wonderful coves and solitary bays.
The great Pizzomunno Faraglione and its poetic legend of Cristalda, the “Chianca amara”, the suggestive old town overlooking the sea, the castle, the cathedral of Romanesque origin and the characteristic “trabucchi”, make Gargano one of the most beautiful and exclusive destinations to reach.

The Umbra forest is located on the promontory and with its area of about 10,500 hectares occupies the northeastern part of Gargano. In the Forest, there are plenty of beeches, oaks, maples and holm oaks. Among all the trees, the famous Vico del Gargano holm oak stands out: 50 meters high with a 5 m circumference. In 2017, the “Faggete vetuste” of the Umbra Forest became UNESCO World Natural Heritage.
Surrounded by this landscape, slowing down to nature’s pace, we will appreciate the delicacies from Gargano, in an ancient farmhouse that had been abandoned for almost two hundred years. With its sixty-four hectares of hunting reserve, as well as the cows and horses, wild boars and many other animals, we will discover the essence and genuineness of products, relaxing in a timeless place. After lunch, it is possible to visit the estate in complete freedom.
