Twizy Walkaround

DESCRIPTION

Riding a silent and nippy Twizy, we leave the “White” Ostuni to reach the magic land of the “Parco delle Dune Costiere”, a place where history, nature and traditions perfectly combine together.
We cross Via Traiana, following the paths used by the ancient Romans, the Knights of Malta, and the pilgrims to reach Brindisi and to board for the East. On our road, we will discover the traces left by nature and by men such as the contorted shape of thousand-year-old olive trees and the huge carob trees, the Dolmen of Montalbano, the dry-stone walls, the Masserie with their precious hypogeous oil mills, the courtyards, the small churches and the citrus groves.
Then we will reach the wetland of the River Morelli, where our guide let us know the special characteristics of this delicate habitat and will reveal the secrets of the river and the eco-friendly fishing.
On our way back, we admire the cliffs of the Murgia, where there is our destination, the Masseria. The farm will welcome us with all its charm, history, tradition, and above all with the flavour of its products. On the terrace of the Masseria, we will taste a rich appetizer with typical local products, drinking a well-known Apulian wine.
Before leaving the electric cars, we visit the city of Ostuni where our guide tells us the history and the birth of the Baroque between its churches and its ancient buildings. We get lost in the labyrinth of its streets, bordered with houses, stairs and flowered balconies that stand out with their colors on the white that surrounds us everywhere.
